2022 Regional Tournament Assignments Released

2022 Regional Tournament Assignments Released

Nov. 25, 2021 - The Tournament Administration Committee has released the regional team assignments for the 2022 competition season.  All teams that registered prior to the October 15th registration deadline have been given a regional assignment, which can be found here.

In addition, AMTA has placed all teams registering after the October 15th deadline, such that there is no wait list at this time.  Any teams that register after today will be placed on the wait list pursuant to Rule 2.10.  The wait list will be updated as teams continue to register until the January 15, 2022, final deadline and can be found here.

AMTA has also released the ORCS bid feeder assignments for the coming year.  As bids are earned, the National Tabulation Director will update the Earned Bid sheet throughout the Regional season.

CASE CHANGES: AMTA anticipates releasing changes to the national case problem to be used at the AMTA Regional Tournaments in early December.  Please check the AMTA website for further updates regarding the case materials.

COVID-19 PROTOCOLS AND ONLINE TOURNAMENT(S):  After the AMTA Board of Directors Mid-Year Meeting, AMTA will release nationwide COVID-19 protocols that will apply to all tournaments. These protocols will be communicated to all Official Contacts in December following the meeting. In addition, please note that all students, coaches, and visitors are expected to familiarize themselves with the host site’s COVID protocols and are expected to maintain full compliance with those protocols. AMTA values its volunteer hosts and failure to follow published COVID protocols may result in sanctions pursuant to Rule 9.5.

AMTA will offer an option for teams to compete online for regionals if they chose that for any reason. While final guidance about COVID-19 protocols will be announced following the December 12, 2021, AMTA Board meeting, teams who have already indicated their desire to compete online have been placed in an online regional. If a team who has been assigned to an in-person regional wants to move to an online regional, please contact TAC Chair, Melissa Watt.

NEXT STEPS FOR ASSIGNED TEAMS:

1. Team Confirmation Forms - ACTION REQUIRED

Pursuant to Rule 2.10.1 (Pg. 12 of the AMTA Rulebook), all schools must complete a Team Confirmation Form for each team at each regional tournament to which they are assigned.  ALL FORMS MUST BE SUBMITTED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF ASSIGNMENTS, or the team will risk administrative removal from the regional tournament.  The forms are available online and can be found here.

2. Team Roster Forms

*NEW* In 2022, AMTA will be using a new AMTA Tournament Manager App to allow for teams to manage and submit their rosters to AMTA. If you have been assigned to a 2022 AMTA Regional Tournament, you will receive further information regarding accessing this system from AMTA. Pursuant to Rule 3.10(a), each team must submit their roster 21 days before the start of the sanctioned tournament in which it is participating.

3. Current Competitor Registration Form

*NEW* In 2022, AMTA will be using a new AMTA Tournament Manager App to allow competitors to register and manager their profile with AMTA. If you have been assigned to a 2022 AMTA Regional Tournament, your official contact will receive further information regarding accessing this system from AMTA.  Pursuant to Rule 3.5 (Pg. 14 of the AMTA Rulebook), each individual student must register with AMTA in order to be eligible to compete in AMTA-sanctioned tournaments.   All current competitors must be registered on or before the Monday before their respective regional tournament, or they will be prohibited from competing in the AMTA-sanctioned tournament.
