AMTA Releases New ORCS Pairing System

AMTA Releases New ORCS Pairing System

Feb. 14, 2020 – Earlier in the season, the AMTA Board of Directors passed a new pairing system to be used at the Opening Round Championship Series (ORCS). The new system aims to better balance the strength of schedule for all teams at ORCS, and will be first implemented during the upcoming 2020 ORCS. This change does not impact regional or national pairing systems, and does not change bid allocation to sites.

AMTA has released an updated Tabulation Manual, available HERE.

AMTA has also released a one-page summary of the new pairing system, available HERE.

AMTA will host a Facebook Live to further discuss the new pairing system at 7pm Eastern (4pm Pacific) on Monday, March 2nd. National Tabulation Director, Johnathan Woodward, and the primary author of the new pairing system, Justin Bernstein, will be available to explain the process and answer questions from the AMTA Community. Questions can be submitted in advance HERE.
