AMTA Postponement of All Remaining 2020 Tournaments

AMTA Postponement of All Remaining 2020 Tournaments

Mar. 12, 2020 - AMTA is postponing all future tournaments at this time.  This includes the Princeton, Memphis and Greenville ORCS, as well as the Chicago National Championship Tournament.

We will continue to monitor the ongoing COVID-19 situation.  When it becomes safe to continue with our events, AMTA has every intention of providing opportunities for all the remaining ORCS teams to compete, as well as hosting a National Championship Tournament.  While we all take this moment to focus on our health and safety, AMTA will also be evaluating options for make-up tournaments at a later date and/or in different locations, along with the potential for further tournaments later this Spring and/or Summer and alternative tournament structures.  At this juncture, there is no timetable for these decisions or plans, but we will keep you updated as the situation continues to progress.

On behalf of AMTA, we want to emphasize that we did not reach this decision lightly.  We know how hard everyone in our community has worked throughout the year to reach this point.  We share your passion for this organization and this activity, and we are committed to ensuring that it will continue when it becomes feasible and safe for us all to do so.   We join you in the sense of disappointment and sadness that we all feel in this moment.  We will work as hard as we can to try to ensure that as many of you that want to compete are able to do so in a safe and healthy environment.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to President Will Warihay or TAC Chair Melissa Watt with any questions or concerns, and please stay tuned to the AMTA website and social media for further announcements and updates.
