The Elon University Mock Trial Program is pleased to announce that the 2nd Annual Carolina Classic Invitational Tournament, sponsored by the Elon University School of Law, will be held on October 18-19, 2008 in Greensboro, North Carolina.

The Carolina Classic will be held in the historic Guilford County Courthouse in downtown Greensboro. Two rounds will be held on both Saturday and Sunday. Through the support of the Elon School of Law and the Greensboro legal community we will not need any coach-judges.

The registration fee for this year’s tournament will be $90. All teams who wish to attend must register by September 26, 2008. In the spirit of the Carolina Classic’s “Service First” motto, the tournament will be providing lunch to all participants and coaches both days for an additional fee of $8/person.

Illinois State University will be hosting a four-round invitational mock trial tournament on November 7-9, 2008. All trials will be conducted in regular courtrooms at the McLean County Law & Justice Center in downtown Bloomington. On November 15 and 16, UCI will be hosting its second annual "Beach Party" Invitational. All four rounds will take place on the UCI campus, located just a few miles from the beach and a few miles from John Wayne Airport. We will again be hosting a Saturday night beachside, bonfire barbecue. We will also be using a new "bracket" pairing system, akin to an NCAA Tournament-style bracket. The bracket system requires each attending program to enter exactly 2 teams. You can read about the details of the bracket system on our website, http://www.irvinemocktrial.com/beachparty.html. The registration fee is $115 per school (or $230 per program) and the cost to for the Saturday night barbecue is $15 per attendee. Harvard College is pleased to announce the 3rd Annual Crimson Classic Invitational Tournament to be held on Saturday, November 15 and Sunday, November 16, 2008. This competitive four-round tournament will be held on the historic Harvard campus, with two trials on Saturday and two trials on Sunday. All participating teams are required to bring a judge, but may forgo this requirement for an additional fee. Case Western Reserve University will be hosting a four-round tournament on Saturday, November 15 and Sunday, November 16, 2008. There will be two rounds each day. The Tournament will be held at the Law School and the surrounding buildings on campus. The University is located four miles east from Downtown Cleveland in the heart of University Circle. The registration fee for the tournament is $100.00 due by November 10, 2008. The tournament cap is set for 30 teams with a cap of two teams per school.
