Dr. Michael Nelson
Michael became a member of the AMTA Board of Directors in 2016. Michael is a former competitor, who competed with Drake University from 2005 through 2009. Michael is currently an Assistant Professor of Political Science at the Pennsylvania State University where he researches and teaches about American politics, especially judicial politics and judicial elections, and quantitative research methods. His research has been published in the American Journal of Political Science, Political Research Quarterly, the Journal of Law and Courts, State Politics and Policy Quarterly, and Judicature. He earned his B.A. in Politics and English from Drake University and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science from Washington University in St. Louis.
